Workshops with the drivers of Agenda 2030: Input for the 2026 country report
In June 2025, the FDFA, ARE and Ecoplan held four workshops on the key drivers of sustainable development. Experts from civil society, academia, business and finance discussed the challenges and potential for implementing the 2030 Agenda. The findings will be incorporated into the 2026 country report.

As part of the ongoing review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Switzerland, the FDFA, in collaboration with the ARE and the consulting firm Ecoplan, held four workshops with the four drivers of sustainable development in June 2025. Experts from the fields of business, education, research, innovation, civil society and finance were invited to participate. The aim of these workshops was to discuss current challenges in the four driver areas and identify potential for accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Markus Reubi, Federal Council Delegate for the 2030 Agenda, took part in all the workshops and had this to say: ‘It was good and important to hear the different positions on the 2030 Agenda directly from the perspectives of the various drivers. All stakeholders from academia, civil society, the financial sector and the business community agreed that there is still great potential for intensifying the driver function. We want to make even better use of this potential in the coming years.’
The workshops are part of the participatory process to prepare the 2026 country report on Switzerland's implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Constructive discussions explored topics such as the integration of the 2030 Agenda into the education system, corporate responsibility, social justice and the role of the financial sector in making the economy more sustainable.
The results of the workshops will now be evaluated to create one page per driver for the country report.
